Courtney Roderick Run for Recovery – a great cause!

Have I been training hard or hardly training?

Both, really.

I think I may have learned the importance of rest for recovery. I used to just go go go through all injury and go all out every run but not so much anymore. This training cycle, on top of all the different workouts I’ve been up to, I’ve been sure to incorporate proper rest days, taper weeks before a run, and regular massages.

I think it’s been paying off! I was able to PR the @CourtneyRoderickrunforrecovery today, finishing 6th overall, and 1st for my age group. I’m particularly proud of this one as recovery from addiction is so dear to my heart and we don’t all get the opportunity for the second chance I’ve been given through sobriety. This is such a good cause!

… and I got to run into some dear old friends!

… and Rory finished first of all the dogs!#lifeisanartproject
